First of all, I truly believe that every child can learn. I am a retired teacher with thirty plus years from the Atlanta Public Schools System. I have very high expectations for each student ... and my students are aware of this. I have taught grades K-8. Initially, I taught in the elementary school. I was able to teach all subjects because my classes were self contained (this is where I taught Reading, Language Arts, Writing, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science). I then transferred to the Middle School where I concentrated in the areas of Reading, English/Language Arts, and Writing. My students never had a problem with any of the standardized tests because we worked very hard. I hold a valid Georgia Educator Certificate.I am certified in Early Childhood (Primary - 5), Middle Grades (4-8) Language Arts, Middle Grades (4-8) Social Science I also have a Reading Endorsement from the State of Georgia.

For me, it has never been a job ,but a mission. Most of my teaching has been done in the inner city schools. I am a no nonsense person, very serious about each student's education. I give my students what I would want someone to give my children. Incidentally, I graduated with honors from UGA where I attended on an academic scholarship. Finally, I work from my home. I love tutoring because it is an opportunity to work one on one with each child. First of all, I truly believe that every child can learn. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
