Hello! I’m Dennis, a dedicated tutor with a passion for helping students succeed in all subjects. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University while maintaining a grade point average of 3.0. One semester there I made the Dean’s list! I have spent the last five years working with GED students and at-risk teenagers. While I primarily work with students aged 14-18, I also tutor middle schoolers, specializing in Math and Science. In Math, I teach subjects such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Advanced Mathematical Decision Making (AMDM). Additionally, I tutor in Science fields, including Physical Science, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, and Human Anatomy. My approach focuses on breaking down barriers, especially for students struggling with math anxiety, and I’ve built a reputation for making math more accessible and less intimidating.
Though my academic background is in business, I discovered my true calling when I began tutoring students who needed extra help. What started as a side activity has grown into a passionate commitment, and I love witnessing the “aha!” moments when students grasp concepts they once found challenging. I am also experienced in virtual tutoring, using digital tools like screen sharing, virtual whiteboards, and educational websites like IXL.com to make online sessions engaging and interactive. Patience is one of my greatest strengths, and I take pride in connecting with students, helping them overcome challenges, and creating a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions.
