Hello, my name is Molly and I am a Sophomore Romance Languages major at UGA. I have been studying French for 8 years and I love to speak, read, and write French. I love helping people improve their French. I hope to be able to share my love for French and help others learn to speak it, too. I am open to helping students out with anything from grammar rules, practical conversation, and composition skills.
I'm excited to work with students in many different ways. I can help with any grammar rules that a student may be having problems understanding. I can also help make a student feel more comfortable speaking by quelling any fears about making mistakes, which is a big problem for many people who are learning a language. I want all my students to feel comfortable speaking to me and we can work through their mistakes without making them feel like they are not good at speaking. I am also open to reading compositions and paragraphs a student might be asked to write. We can work on spelling and sentence structure to make sure your written work is as good as it can possibly be.
I am on the Dean's List at UGA and I have gotten A's in all my French classes. I was given the French award in high school in both my junior and senior years. I have successfully completed one upper level college course and I am planning to take Advanced French Conversation and Composition this fall. I am very excited to continue these college courses to gain even more education.
I am very flexible on hours and meeting places. I can meet with students at almost any time except for when I work a couple shifts a week at my job. Other than that, I am open to anything from early mornings to late nights. I am also very flexible on pay. I want all students to feel excited to learn and work on their French skills without it feeling like a chore. That is my goal as a tutor. My daughter struggles with feeling overwhelmed when she has a lot of work that she's behind on. Today was one of those days where my daughter just felt like giving up. That was before Molly arrived. Molly really helped us get back on our feet today and and we made a lot of progress towards catching up. Thanks to Molly's motivation my daughter was able to stay focused and we had a great day. Thank you Molly!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
