About XUAN

Xuan W. is a doctoral candidate in the Comparative Literature Department at the University of Georgia. She’s interested in the 17th century, the mode of allegory, the genre of quest-romance, and problems in interpretation.

She is now working on her dissertation entitled, “Aesthetics of the Other: Allegory and Chinese Literature.”

Before attending the graduate school at UGA in 2008, she studied English at the University of International Relations in Beijing. She grew up in Shenzhen, Guangdong province.

Xuan has been the instructor of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year Chinese language courses held in the Comparative Literature Department at the University of Georgia from 09 to 13. Since 2013, she began to teach literature courses in Ethnic American lit, Asian American lit, and Western literature held at UGA.
