Hello! My name is Alicia, and I am a recent graduate from The University of Georgia. I have my Bachelors of Science degree in Early Childhood Education major with a minor in Human Development and Family Science. I am currently completing my Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education at the University. I am employed at as an Academic Interventionist at an elementary school in the Athens area.

During my Freshman year, I gratefully accepted the opportunity to shadow a 1st grade teacher at a local elementary school, where I received some hands-on experience with assisting students with their classwork and with other daily activities whenever the teacher needed assistance. I have also served in the student teacher at Chase Street Elementary School (Pre-K) and Gaines Elementary School (2nd Grade) in Athens, Georgia and at Hull-Sanford Elementary School (2nd Grade).

In regards to my math experience, I took Geometry, Pre-Calculus and Calculus in high school and performed fairly well in those classes. I have also attended several summer camps and research internships centered around Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

I took French in high school for 3 years and made a 4 on the College Board's AP French Exam. I received the Outstanding Senior in French award during my senior year of high school and was the only student at my school to receive the award. I also completed Intermediate French (the 4th class in hierarchy) at UGA during my first semester. I have also received an A in every French class that I have taken thus far.

I received a passing score on the College Board's AP English Language and Composition exam and an A in my Accelerated English class during my senior year in high school while being enrolled under the toughest English teacher at my school. I also received an A in my English 1102 class during my first semester at UGA.

In addition, I served as a journalist for my high school's newspaper and received praise from my teacher for my exceptional writing skills. Lastly, I scored a 32 on the English portion my ACT exam and a 710 on the Writing portion of my SAT exam.

As for my skills in both Proofreading and Adobe InDesign, I was my high school's literary magazine editor, an exciting job that included editing several pieces, short stories and poems that were submitted by students. I used the Adobe InDesign software to create the ENTIRE magazine from start to finish, and the literary magazine received a rating of "Excellent" by the National Council of Teacher's English. Lastly, I also used Adobe InDesign exclusively while I served as one of many Layout Designers for UGA's infUSion magazine during the first semester of my freshman year.

Throughout my first two years of college, I accumulated a wealth of experience working with young students including volunteering for field trips sponsored by UGA, volunteering for several after school programs at schools and community centers in the Athens area, interning with Families of Children Under Stress (FOCUS) and KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools, and so much more.

All in all, I am an easy-going, patient individual that will do whatever it takes to help you or your child succeed. As a career educator, I am passionate about teaching and learning. My tutoring motto is as follows: Commit to me, and I'll commit to you!
