I am currently a Graduate student working towards my Masters in Middle School Math education. This will certify me to teach grades 4-8, however, I also have experience tutoring at the High School level for grades 9 and 10.
Prior to my enrollment at the University of Georgia, I served with City Year Greater Philadelphia, an AmeriCorps program focused on addressing the high school drop our rate in the United States. While serving for City Year, I acted as a student advocate; tutoring academically and servind as a mentor. I am pationate about my future as a Math educator. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy soccer (I played my entire life and through my undergraduate years in college), running, and cooking (I can make some mean oatmeal cookies). I traveled abroad while in college, studying in Vienna, Austria where I tutored Math. I would love to answer any questions you have about myself, my experiences and qualifications. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
