Bentley University (MBA)
I recently moved to Athens Georgia to work on my doctorate in economics. I plan to pursue behavioral economics, but find interest in many economic and financial fields.
Prior to my relocation, I was employed for four years as a fiscal policy analyst for the Rhode Island House of Representatives. I attended Bentley University and pursued a dual-program undergraduate degree in Economics & Finance with a minor in Law. Upon undergraduate graduation, I enrolled in the full-time MBA program, concentration in Economics and Financial Markets. Furthermore, I possess 2 FINRA licenses, Series 7 and Series 66. While in college, I was a Resident Assistant and tutored 3 subjects: Economics, Finance, and Business Statistics.
My teaching style is relaxed but focused. I like students to fully understand the question or topic of difficulty. It is important to realize, "What is this question really asking?" Also, I like to create relatable stories to better describe problems. Rephrasing complex financial or economic theories can be helpful to increase comprehension and understanding. My tutoring is more of a teaching conversation, where I expect you to speak and show your learning. After an initial tutoring session, I have created self check tests for my students to better prepare for an upcoming exam.
I am patient and able to work on any level of finance or economics. The basics are very important as everything builds upon that foundation; however, the "hard stuff" is where all the fun happens. I truly enjoy teaching this material. I recently moved to Athens Georgia to work on my doctorate in economics. Jeffrey has been a great tutor for my daughter...he is very responsive and creative tutoring! I would highly recommend him.
I was visiting the east coast and had some trouble understanding my Managerial Economics homework for the MBA program I am in. I got an email back from Jeff within 10 hours and he was able to meet me the next day. We met at Panera Bread and he very patiently and realistically gave me examples to help me understand the material. He was very good about keeping me on track (I tend to get side-tracked when I talk) so we were utilizing our time wisely. I left feeling confident and educated. Thanks Jeff for the last minute tutor session! I HIGHLY recommend him for your tutoring needs!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have an MBA from Bentley University with a specific concentration in Economics & Financial Markets. Grade point average for this degree was 3.78 on 4.0 scale. I tutored the undergraduate population in 3 subjects areas: economics, finance, and business statistics. Furthermore, my undergraduate degree, which was business oriented as well, included over 20 credit-hours of non-major business curriculum.
