B.S. Kennesaw State University (Elementary Education)
Hi, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Noreen. I am a recent graduate of Kennesaw State University in Elementary Education with an Endorsement in ESOL. I did my student teaching at a local, Fulton County Elementary school in First Grade Fall of 2016 and Spring of 2017. At KSU, I have had classes in English, Reading, Grammar, and Math that have given me extensive back ground about how to teach each of these subjects.
Recently, I became TESOL certified. This allows me to teach ESL/ESOL students in each of the subject areas.
I have also passed the GACE exam (an exam required by every public school) in ESOL on the profession level, which allows me to teach ESOL through 8th grade.
For the last 4 years, I have been tutoring adult students to speak English. I have had students from South/Central America, Russia, China, and the Middle East in my classes. At the same time, I have worked for another tutoring place and have tutored students from K-8.
If your student is struggling in English, Reading, Grammar, or Math, I encourage you to contact me for further information and to schedule lessons. Hi, I would like to introduce myself. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I recently graduated from KSU with a degree in Elementary Education. In order to that, I had to write lesson plans using Common Core and GA standards. I am aware of how to align activities, formative, and summative assessments with Common Core and GA standards.
Currently, I am a senior at Kennesaw State University working on my degree in Elementary Education. I am doing my student teaching at a local Elementary School in the Fall of 2016 and Spring of 2017. I will graduate in May of 2017. I have had extensive classes in Reading, English, Grammar, and Math. I have tutored students K-8 at a local tutoring business. I have also tutored adults in ESL.
I am a recent graduate of Kennesaw State University (Magna Cum Laude) with a BS degree in Elementary Education. I hold both an ESOL and Reading Endorsement. I have taught ESL classes (as a substitute and for adults) for over 5 years. During this time, I provided quality lessons that included reading, writing, speaking, and listening. With my ESL students, I primarily concentrate on strengthening the student's phonics skills. I believe that it is critical for the students to have a strong letter-sound recognition skills . During my teaching time, I provide ample opportunities to practice using new phonetic skills both verbally and in writing. My goals is to help students become better decoders when tackling words in the texts they are reading and to become better spellers when writing.
During the last year, I student taught in first grade. During this time, I used a program called Miss Marney. Each day, the students spent 10-15 minutes practicing their handwriting. This included both upper and lower case letter of the alphabet. The handwriting class lasted about 3/4 of the school year.
