About Natalie

I am a certified K-5 Elementary Education teacher in Fulton County. My experience includes teaching General Education students in K-5th grade, as well as teaching Special Needs students for over 10 years. I also work with Occupational Therapists, who teach handwriting and improving fine motor skills.

I have a Masters degree in Special Education and have been teaching Special Needs students with ADHD, Dyslexia, and learning disabilities at Lake Windward Elementary School for nearly a decade. I love teaching students how to read, and my passion has always been to make learning fun! I use many resources and strategies of which I have learned over the years from continued education and workshops. I have a lot of patience and would love to tutor your child so that they, too, develop a love for learning.

Please contact me to schedule tutoring sessions. I am available on weekdays from 4-7 PM, Monday - Thursday, as well as Saturdays. I look forward to working with your child.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Dyslexia

I have been a special education teacher for 10 years. I am certified through UGA. I have been teaching special needs students for 10 years in Fulton County School System. I have worked with students with Dyslexia in my classroom and know multi sensory strategies that help with learning. Completed a 30 hour Orton Gillingham course through Fulton County on teaching students with Dyslexia in the classroom.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a certified teacher working in Fulton County for 9 years. I have taught first and kindergarten students as well as special needs students. I tutor extended day students in third and fifth grade each year as well.

Handwriting

I have worked with Occupational Therapists in Fulton County for 9 years. I have been teaching handwriting and fine motor skills to kindergarten students and know a lot about strategies that help students in these areas.

Phonics

I am a special education teacher certified through UGA. Teaching kindergarten for 9 years I have many strategies and techniques that students need to learn phonics and phonemic awareness. Many students need more time practicing these skills to prepare them for reading readiness.

Very pleased

We are very pleased with my son's sessions with Natalie. He looks forward to his sessions and is excited to tell us what he works on with her. This is such a positive difference than what he is like at home when we have tried to work on handwriting with him. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for one on one support for their child.
