About Alexis

Due to having an M.S. in Criminal Justice Administration and a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice I had the opportunity to teach at the Sergeant's Academy for the Georgia Department of Corrections. It is crucial that I continue to teach in order to learn more which makes me more effective. I have an M.A. in Religious Education and a Ph.D. in Religious Counseling. Board certified religious counselor with the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Criminal Justice was and continues to be my career focus. Due to my criminal justice experience I had the opportunity after retirement to work in Afghanistan 2012-2013 as the gender advisor for the Afghan women who were incarcerated throughout the country. I increased capacity building with implementing the Gender and Human Rights Prison Directorate. I am open to all faiths with respect and have a religious education background.

Education is the crux that will allow for all to be inclusive because of the knowledge and wisdom you gain. Diversity is a necessity for interacting with all students regardless of age. I am excited to teach the subjects that I listed and will strive for success and self-assurance. Please feel free to contact me and I will respond. We all have the capacity to learn and to share that information. I have been recognized for loyalty and dedication.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
