Bio

I love math, and I love tutoring. I have been tutoring since high school, and tutored in the University of West Georgia's FYRST (First Year Resident Student Tutor) program for a full academic year. I tutored all freshman studies, primarily focusing on English/Writing and Chemistry, but I also tutored whatever areas the students needed. I tutored all freshman studies, primarily focusing on English/Writing and Chemistry, but I also tutored whatever areas the students needed. Afterwards, I became a tutor with Richmond County, GA, for a No-Child Left Behind program as an in-home tutor. The focus was on preparing students for standardized tests under the State Curriculum, and passing state-set benchmarks.

I was also Program Director/Camp Coordinator for a non-profit Community Center in Georgia for two years. I was responsible for building the program to assist with the after-school tutoring needs of inner city children. This included building lesson plans, training instructors, and monitoring progress reports.

In my many years of tutoring reading, I have incorporated various tools to improve students' comprehension, and retention. I would generally use subjects that the student enjoyed in order to encourage them to read more, and aid in better comprehension. I also incorporated phonics for students with reading disabilities.

Algebra 1

I mastered Algebra! It is the language of logic. I love this subject, and while in high school, I used to dream algebra and maintained an average above 100%. That's right! Throughout college, I maintained above 95% average in all math subjects (and science too). I believe that algebra can be fun. With the right tools and methods, I can help you master it too.
