Hampton University, Hampton, VA (Elementary Education)
I have a degree in Elementary Education from Hampton University. I have taught Kindergarten, first and third grades. I currently teach 2nd grade. I have taught for over 20 years in Seminole County schools. I have also tutored independently, through the school I have taught Summer School.
My favorite subject to teach is reading or language arts. I enjoy reading and like to instill a love for reading in my students. I also enjoy teaching grammar and phonics. I also like to instill confidence and independence in my students. If I believe in them, they will begin to believe in themselves. I like to teach strategies along with the skills so that the student can become successful with the skill they are learning as well as in other aspects of their life.
I have lots of experience, I am flexible and I have had a lot of success over the 15 years I taught first grade with the various curricula that have been implemented throughout my career as an educator. I taught kindergarten for six years, where phonics is a key component in the learning process.
I enjoy teaching as I stated earlier. When I teach, I learn, so we can all be lifelong learners. I have a degree in Elementary Education from Hampton University. I have taught Kindergarten, first and third grades. I currently teach 2nd
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
