I graduated from Stanford University with Distinction (top 5% of both majors), with Double Majors in Economics and Political Science. My Economics course work included Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, International Economics and Finance, Securities Analysis, and Econometrics. My Political Science major involved a heavy emphasis on both ancient and modern history and political philosophy, along with the usual curriculum relating to Political Science itself. All the courses emphasized analytical skills along with essay writing.

I followed up my interest in Economics and Securities markets by building a successful career in the investment industry, and now work for myself. I have taught test preparation for the securities licensing tests, including the Series 6, 7, 63, 65, and 66. My passion for teaching and helping students has never waned, and during the past 10 years I have taught a wide variety of subjects.

Public Speaking

I have worked exclusively in the Investment and Securities industry since 1983, and for the past 30 years, have been an Investment-products Wholesaler, representing a variety of investment companies and distributing those products through Investment Advisers. A large part of my work involves public speaking -- giving presentations at Investment Conferences (in front of hundreds of attendees) sales meetings, and client seminars. In many ways, public speaking is what I do for a living! I have been trained in public speaking and presentation skills throughout my entire career - and during the last 10 years have turned those talents into part of my business model: I teach other sales people how to present in public with confidence. Through demonstrating and practicing different presentation skills and techniques, I am very confident in my ability to help make anyone a more confident and effective communicator and speaker!
Series 63,

Series 63

I received both my Series 7 and Series 63 at approximately the same time when I entered the investment industry, in 1984. I have worked exclusively in that industry since that time, both on the retail side of the business (working with individual clients) as well as on the wholesale side of the business (marketing investment vehicles to Financial Advisors).
Series 65,

Series 65

I have been Series 65 licensed as well as Series 7 licensed for most of my career in the Investment industry. The Series 65 - which gives one access to the Advisory side of the business, and is needed in order to work with a Registered Investment Adviser - is a very different test than is the Series 7, and is more focused on regulations as well as broader economic and financial considerations.
Series 66,

Series 66

I have worked in the Investment industry for more than 30 years, both in a retail sales as well as Wholesaling capacity. The Series 66 test combines the Series 65, which I hold, along with the Series 63, which I also have; it is a challenging test but one that can be prepared for and mastered if taught the right way.
Series 7,

Series 7

I graduated from Stanford University with double majors in Economics and Political Science, and have worked my entire career in the Financial Services industry. I've had my Series 7 for more than 30 years, my 63 for an equal amount of time, and also have my Series 65.

Fantastic Tutor

Guillo is the BEST tutor. He's incredibly patient and knows how to explain complex concepts in a way that is approachable and understandable. He is great at meeting students exactly where they are with material and getting them to a point where they feel confident with it. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone getting ready for the Series 7!

Fantastic Tutor - Series 7

Guillermo helped me pass my Series 7 exam, and jumped me from a 55% to a mid 80s grade. He worked with me to develop my basic knowledge of each chapter through quizzes, practice problems, and online lessons. With Guillermo's help, I was able to confidently answer every question on my exam because we worked on test taking strategies such as eliminating answers. I would highly recommend Guillermo to anyone seeking to improve their Series 7 score as well as their knowledge of the Securities Industry. He invested his time into my studies, and encouraged me every step of the way. I truly believe without his help I would not have passed my exam.

Amazing Tutor for Series 66

Guillermo was incredibly helpful. I reached out to him after failing my Series 66 on the first attempt. He kept me on a manageable study plan, helped me identify areas that I needed to focus on, and gave it to me straight when he felt I was slacking. Guillermo utilizes the tutor time to discuss topics that are more complex and difficult. He leaves the much simpler, memorization type topics for you to go through outside of the tutor session, but makes sure to test your progress the next time you meet. Overall, Guillermo is an extremely kind, knowledgeable, and enjoyable tutor to work with. He kept me motivated when I felt burnt out and instilled confidence in me to do well. I walked into the exam fully prepared and had no doubt in my mind that I passed before I hit the submit button at the end of my test. I’m positive Guillermo will do the same for anyone else that gives him the chance.
