About Donald

Bio

I have an extensive background in accounting, information technology and business administration. These experiences have been accumulated over a period of 30 years and have provided considerable assistance on those occasions where I have been called on to offer tutoring services.

My interests are varied. I have an undergraduate major in Accounting and minor in Information Technology. I also hold A+ and personal trainer certifications. I enjoy tennis and long distance running, and have...

My interests are varied. I have an undergraduate major in Accounting and minor in Information Technology. I also hold A+ and personal trainer certifications. I enjoy tennis and long distance running, and have participated in more races than I can remember. My interest in sports is so passionate that I was, at one time, a volunteer track coach for an elementary school.

Algebra was always one of my favorite topics. I have always enjoyed tutoring students and demonstrating that there is nothing to fear because algebra can be easily mastered.

Spreadsheets, documents and presentation software have been at my disposal for many years. They are a necessary part of my job and I have become quite adept at using them effectively. It is always satisfying to pass on that knowledge to others

I have been involved in accounting at varying levels for more than 30 years. This experience was gained over a variety of industries allowing be to have a good grasp of what can sometimes be a complex subject.

I have formal training as well as practical experience. That combination makes me an excellent choice for tutoring in the subjects that I am offering. I enjoy training and I am never satisfied with mediocre. My intention as a tutor is to ensure the success of any student that I work with.

I started playing chess in 1976. In 1977 I was invited to enter my school's championship after the club president saw me playing a few friendly games. By 1980 I had won several championships, trained many other players, and even got certified as a tournament director. I no longer play competitively but I still enjoy the occasional friendly encounter.

I got started in athletics through organizing and participating in track and field competitions in the 1980s. At one point this was expanded to include sporting (volleyball, soccer, cricket, etc.) events as well. I had the privilege of coaching track for a private school (K - 6) in the 1990s. I have participated in a few 400m races but have always had a preference for slightly longer distances. Currently, I run 4 or 5 days weekly in preparation for upcoming 5k events. I am in excellent condition and continue to post competitive times with a great degree of consistency.

Got my questions answered quickly; good teacher. I was stressed about learning how to do 1099's in Quickbooks in time to file by the end of the month, but Donald has a calm demeanor which made my anxiety disappear, and I was able to learn well from him.
