SAM SHARPE TEACHER'S COLLEGE (Elementary Education)
International University Of the Caribbean (EdD)
My approach to instruction is highly student centered. I have over five years teaching experience at the elementary level teaching various subjects and two years at the tertiary level teaching English.
My aim is to instill a love for learning within my students so that they are not simply limited to passing of examinations. My instruction methods are highly based on Howard Gardener's theory of multiple intelligences which allows me to cater to the needs of each student. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
