Junior pursuing BA (Music Composition)
Since I was a child, I have been enamored with the beauty of music and the emotions that it can bring to a concert or a film. I relish every chance that I get to create music or perform. I met my first violin when I was 4 years old, and from that moment on, I could not stay away from it. From the moment I begged my parents to buy me a violin to my current collegiate lessons, I have grown extensively in both technique and passion.
Today, I am pursuing two undergraduate degrees in Composition and Commercial Music at Florida State University along with a Performance Certificate in violin performance. I am also currently teaching private violin lessons, enjoying every moment of every lesson. My passion is to maintain a career in film scoring and never stop making music through every medium possible that can reach people's hearts.
Concerning violin education, I have been taking lessons for 6 years from various teachers, and I am currently studying on a collegiate level with Dr. Benjamin Sung at Florida State University. My recent ensemble experience includes University Philharmonia Orchestra 1st violin (2015-2016), FSU violin duo (2015-2016), LaGrange Symphony Orchestra 1st violin (2014-2015), and Palm Beach Atlantic Symphony 1st violin (2012-2013). I have performed as 1st violin in the orchestra pit for 6 runs of different full length shows, and I have performed as a freelancing musician for countless weddings, private engagements, and concerts/recitals.
Concerning composition, I have written over an hour's worth of original music ranging from fully orchestrated epic film scores to humble wind quintets. I try to expand my experience with different styles and techniques by writing in different territories as often as I can, and I have had 3 years of private composition training from multiple teachers in various fields.
Concerning music theory, I have completed all four collegiate courses which are typically offered in music theory, and due to my extensive understanding of composition, I have attained a firm grasp on all elements of general theory.
Concerning ear training, I have had substantial experience in voice training, and I have performed in the All State Reading Chorus (top 25 auditioned tenors in the state of Florida). In order to get into the All State Reading Chorus, I had to sight sing increasingly difficult musical lines with near perfection. I had quite a lot of helpful training and practice in order to get to this point, and I now feel very comfortable with all aspects of ear training and sight singing.
I have a very deep love for music, and it is my hope to bring that same love and fulfillment to anyone willing to learn. Music is a quality that goes beyond notes and melodies; it promotes critical thinking, a dedicated work ethic, and boundless creativity. It would be a privilege and an honor to bring some music into your lives :)

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
