Ever since I can remember, I have always loved working with kids and being able to teach them new things. Throughout high school, I spent my summers as a camp counselor and also tutored students and babysat throughout the year.
My love of photography began when my mom gave me my first film camera and I took pictures of everything- including my stuffed animals, which I'm sure my mom was not pleased about when she had to pay to develop the film and found 10 photos of my bedroom. It's such a passion of mine and I would love to be able to share my skill with others and to teach them the true art of photography.
My photography career really started in high school in an advanced photo class when I went to shoot a soccer game. I realized that I wanted to make this something I would do for a living.
During my freshman year of college at the University of Florida, I was an intern for the ESPN 1850 and photographer multiple UF sports to be posted on their website. Over the next three years, I was able to shoot every UF sport, was an intern for both the University and their athletic communication department and worked for a former Sports Illustrated photographer.
I would love to be able to share my experiences with others and be able to show them how to make beautiful photos. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or want to schedule lessons! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
In the last five years, I have had the privilege of photographing every UF sport, working for a former Sports Illustrated photographer, who also runs his own multimedia company allowing me to gain experience in both photography and videography. I have interned for both the University of Florida and the communications department for the UAA, University Athletics Associate. I have been published in the Orlando Sentinel and contributed work to Sports Illustrated. Now, I run my own freelance business, focusing on family and individual portraits.
