Florida Atlantic University (Nursing, BSN)
Nursing school can be challenging and often times requires an experienced approach within the field of nursing to succeed. As a BSN, RN for twenty years I have the experience and the knowledge to give you the right tools to excel in the nursing profession. Over the last twenty years I have rendered holistic nursing care in a vast array of areas including: medical surgical, outpatient surgery, adult and geriatric care, emergency room, critical care, intensive care, pediatric intensive care, pediatrics, telemetry, home health including cardiac post-op care and maternal-infant care, camp nursing, and school health. Nursing education is a critical component in the nursing profession leading to a broad range of experience teaching patients, families, nursing students, and other healthcare professionals. While teaching students at the university level I was awarded a certification for excellence in preceptorship. Often nursing professors would request my services to their students as I served as a mentor and excellent role model for them as they embarked into their future in nursing. An overwhelming majority of the nursing students I’ve worked with have lead successful careers in the nursing profession.
Education is an extremely important part of my life both professionally and personally as it serves as a way to give back to the wonderful field of nursing while leading new nurses into the future. As a nurse I live the educational standards that I expect from my students as evidenced by graduating with presidential honors from the university level. I utilize an individual approach with a variety of teaching methods while working with students due to learning occurring differently for each person. Patience is the hallmark key to teaching and learning as everyone learns at a different pace. There is a need to remember even experienced nurses once were new nurses leading to a greater understanding of the educational experience of the student. Learning can occur at any stage in life, and it's never too late to learn and advance your career while ultimately improving your life. Please, call or email me for further information regarding how tutoring can help you to succeed.
Over the last twenty years of nursing I have obtained various certifications including: trauma and emergency room certifications, critical care certification, telemetry/12 lead EKG certification, and pediatric certifications. While rendering home health care I also performed wound care, phlebotomy, and 12-lead EKG services. I also served on the IV insertion and code teams in the emergency room and critical care units. My most recent community project included creating and implementing a diabetic management program in the community setting for under-served patients.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been an RN for twenty years in multiple fields of nursing, and I have experience teaching college nursing students in the classroom and clinical areas.
