UNIVERSITY OF PUERTO RICO (J.D.)
Languages are the key to a whole new different world of opportunities and dimensions. However, it’s not only speaking it, it’s taming it. My native language is Spanish, so I decided to polish it with a degree in Hispanic Studies, which includes a lot of advanced grammar and literature classes.
I also submitted my work to a literature contest, and I got a first place award. Back in Puerto Rico, I tutored students so they could take the G. E. D. test. It wasn’t only reading and writing, but all the basic subjects such as, science, history, English. I also helped classmates to understand the lessons.
Another subject I am proficient at is in writing and reading Braille. I have three certificates in that subject and also in assistive technology training such as VoiceOver, Jaws (screen readers), and Open Book (a book reader). I worked two years for the University of Sagrado Corazón de Jesús while I was a student there. It was in the laboratories working with blind students.
Learning is so much easier if you have fun while you’re studying. I am willing to search every nook and cranny until you find the perfect rail to ride on. Don't let rules control you; let’s play with them!

Diana is a very patient and friendly teacher.
She's doing her best to find the technical vocabulary I need for my job.
It's not only being a teacher, it's also having a committed and affable student like this one. It's a pleasure.
The first lesson was a constant discussion to evaluate my level while correcting my mistakes. Looking forward for the second one!
To be more successful in life we have to accept being correct it willingly. This student is an amazing example of that.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a braille certificate from Lohíza Coldero Institute, a school for the blinds in Puerto Rico. I worked for the University of Puerto Rico for 2 years helping blind students to learn writing and reading braille. Many of them thought that braille was obsolete, but they realized how helpful it is. It helped them to organize their stuff among many other things.
I have a Bachelors degree in Hispanic studies, I tutor for one year high school students and adults in Spanish. I have a few school rewards for my participation in contests and for my gpa.
