Florida State University (English Education)
My passions include teaching youth and encouraging them to make the most of the opportunities presented to them and excel in their educational careers. I aim to provide students with different teaching techniques and modify lessons to best accommodate their learning styles.
As a graduate from Florida State University, I have been trained and prepared to teach the English/Language Arts subject to students in grades 6-12. I participated in an organization named PeaceJam in which I mentored and facilitated open dialogue about different societal issues with students ages 13-18. I also tutored a student in Tallahassee through a program called 50 Large. This program is for at-risk males ages 12-18 that need assistance in their classes and personal lives. It fosters a well-rounded, well-mannered, and well-educated individual.
I graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor's Degree in English Education. I am also ESOL endorsed and have worked with English Language Learners. I am currently employed at Santaluces High School as a 9th grade English teacher expected to start teaching August 2015.
I am willing to work with your schedule and I am eager to learn more about you and your learning style! Please feel free to email me to schedule lessons. Thanks. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
