I was a high school chemistry teacher in New York City for 30 years teaching Regents and advanced placement chemistry at one of the cities best high schools. I taught 10th year, advanced placement and IB chemistry for three years in Florida and for the past eight years I have taught 1st year chemistry at Palm Beach State College.
For many years I tutored students in New York. I approach tutoring by finding the easiest approach for a student to learn a concept. I demonstrate various approaches to solve problems along with the most logical approach. I present a very logical way to solve chemistry problems and am very easy to understand and look forward to helping many students. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
