Teaching English in South America and Spain uniquely qualifies me to teach English, as I myself have been a student of a foreign language and therefore I understand the challenges of learning and applying another language.
I have worked in corporations, teaching Business English, as well as tutoring one on one with individuals to assist them with grammar and writing.
I have worked mostly with adults, working in universities such as University of Miami in Florida and currently, am teaching as an ESL Instructor at Kent State University.
My teaching style is flexible to allow for the student to customize the agenda depending on his or her language learning needs but always have a structure and goal for each class.
Being a native speaker and having my masters degree in Training & Development, has given me the ability to quickly assess the students needs, develop a learning plan with the student and create a curriculum to meet the learning needs. Also, by obtaining my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certificate in Barcelona, Spain has given me the foundation and fundamentals of teaching to all levels of learners from Beginners to Advanced.
As a Language Trainer & Coach my objective is to facilitate the student to feel confident and secure in speaking and working in English, by working on skill development using positive reinforcement to provide specific feedback for development.
After 10 years of teaching, I can guarantee that you will meet your Language goals, by identifying them, getting feedback on your skills and continually working toward fluency.
As a lifelong learner myself, I would be honored to learn your language goals and assist you in meeting them! I'm learning and enriching my vocabulary. Reinforcing acquired language skills that I had lost. All about the dynamic way she delivers lessons and encourages participation and I'm pleased that I'm learning so much.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
