AS a math teacher, I always have one goal for my students, which is to learn, understand, and hopefully enjoy math. To attain this goal, I use several strategies in developing my classroom.
The first strategy is to create a safe atmosphere where students can learn from their mistakes, and not be embarrassed by not having the correct answer. I believe it is vital in a classroom. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
