Saint Joseph's University (Chemistry)
I recently relocated from the northeast to Wesley Chapel, FL in order to be closer to family and be as far away from those cold snowy winters as possible. For the better part of 10 years I played professional poker, which requires a high level of intelligence, keen observation and adaptability, and a strong foundation in mathematics.
On top of that, I started a private SAT prep business with a former English Professor in Philadelphia in 2004. He took care of the English, I took care of the Math, and we helped hundreds of students in the Philadelphia area attain the necessary scores to get into college, some being the first in their family to ever do so.
The most gratifying part was always having a student call or email saying they were accepted to college, and that we could be a small part of helping them achieve that goal.
Between peer-tutoring in high school and college, establishing an SAT tutoring business of my own, and helping my precocious and sometimes stubborn teenage sister with her Trigonometry homework I have an abundance of experience and success in the tutoring arena.
I have been tutoring not only in the mathematics of SAT testing but also in the techniques, approach, and analysis of the tests themselves in order to provide each student with the highest chance of success while taking the actual test. Word problem dissection and solving being paramount of these skills.
I am highly proficient at all mathematics tutoring from elementary to high school, arithmetic to pre-calculus. Calculus and Statistics/probability are more dense subjects that require a little more planning in advance, so providing exactly what topic within those subjects you need help with will aid me in providing the best possible tutoring experience.
I am also qualified to tutor in Chemistry (my college major), and many different history subjects.
Please feel free to contact me at any time to schedule a lesson or for more information. My schedule is very flexible for day/evening or even weekend sessions. I can provide a quiet in-house tutoring location, or travel to a location that is easier for you.

This is the 3rd tutor we've used so far. He's the best we've had. He was able to effectively review the material for my 8th grader for both Honors Geometry and Honors Intro to Physical Science. He was able to both keep my son on track during the session (though they chatted a bit after, I wasn't charged) and knew the content well. It's nice to have a tutor that can help with two subjects because when I schedule in advance I don't know exactly what my son will need at that time.
He did and A plus job helping my daughter prep for SAT Math. He explained everything so clearly. My daughter was very happy with Jason.
He did a great job working with our son, preparing him for an upcoming Chemistry test. He explained the concepts thoroughly and would ask him to make sure he understood and worked example problems with him.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been tutoring precalc, Calc I, and Calc II for several years now.
My major in college was Chemistry, basic chemistry comes easily as well as over 6 years of actual laboratory work implementing the various laws and formulae. Tutored chemistry during my college years and assisted other classes in studying and laboratory work. Tutoring basic chemistry is very simple, and having a strong math background makes it even easier in regards to SI units, constant conversions, and scientific notation.
I have 14 years of SAT prep experience.
