Everyone learns differently. Some people are visual learners, while others are hands-on learners. Instead of trying to get you to conform to standard learning methods, I change the lessons to adapt to your learning style. My solid engineering and teaching background in math, science, and business, along with my experience in teaching enables me to teach in any style. I pride myself with significantly improving careers of other people. I love nurturing young minds and seeing the light bulb go off when they finally master a topic. I have lectured across the globe, but it has been the one-on-one experiences, whether it's teaching college or elementary students, that I find the most rewarding. I will improve your understanding of mathematics and engineering.

Business

Business,

Business

I studied Business Management at Cornell University's Johnson Graduate Management School as well as at Boston University's Graduate School of Management. I majored in operations and finance. I've managed high tech companies for 25 years, and have held executive level positions (CEO, CTO, Chairman of the Board). I've managed all types of organizations including manufacturing, engineering, finance, sales and marketing, and operations.
Career Development,

Career Development

Having come up through the ranks myself to the CEO level, I've managed people for over 25 years. I've always felt it just as important to develop my people as it is to produce profits. I've take people out of manufacturing, without formal degrees and turned them into engineers. One of them became Director of Technology at Lucent, and he often reminds me that he owes a huge portion of his success to me. I constantly offer help with people's resumes, interviewing techniques, and strategic career thinking ("what's your backup plan").

Computer

Computer Engineering,

Computer Engineering

My undergraduate major at Cornell University was computer architectures and logic design. I've spent 25 years designed computer based systems starting with Intel's 8085 processor, through their Pentium lines. I've designed with Intel's, Motorola 68000 series, and AMD 29000 bit slice and K-Series processors, not to mentioned Digital Equipment's Alpha processor. I've worked at Cisco Systems, Teradyne, Texas Instruments, Gould, Digital Equipment Corp, and Nortel.
Computer Science,

Computer Science

My undergraduate degree at Cornell University was in computer architectures. I studied various compilers and programming languages. Over my 25 year career, I've developed my own computer designs, along with the compilers needed for the various programming languages. I know Fortran, Basic, Unix, C++, Pascal, Windows, HTML, simulators (ORCAD, PROCAD, etc.), I've also taught computer science and electrical engineering at Indian River State College.
Dreamweaver,

Dreamweaver

I have developed websites for several of the companies I have worked for using Dreamweaver. I also have developed websites using raw HTML code, as well as other webpage development tools (i.e. Weebly). Samples of my work are available upon request.
Microsoft Outlook,

Microsoft Outlook

Outlook is THE business standard email application. Every company I have worked at for the past 15+ years has used Outlook. When I started my own companies, I used Outlook. It has allowed me to sync up with customers, suppliers, employers and family. We use it for integrated email and calendar functions. I utilize multiple email accounts (Work, Consulting, and Personal) simultaneously in Outlook.
Microsoft Project,

Microsoft Project

I've managed projects for 25 years and have used Project extensively for at least 15 of those years. There are only a limited number of management tracking planning and tracking tools out there and Project is preferred over all of them, despite some of its shortcomings (like human load balancing). While at Cisco, I managed 30 projects simultaneously using Project and couldn't have succeeded without it.
Networking (Computer),

Networking (Computer)

I hold two patents in networking: Virtual Networking and Syncing isochronous services with synchronous circuits. I was one of the inventors of Ethernet. I led the engineering team that developed the first data switch that linked computers together. I worked over 25 years for companies including Cisco Systems, Nortel, Digital Equipment Corp. I served on the IEEE802 committee that established the specifications for the internet. I led the team that developed Voice over IP (VOIP) at Cisco Systems.
Web Design,

Web Design

I have developed websites for several of the companies I have worked for using Dreamweaver. I also have developed websites using raw HTML code, as well as other webpage development tools (i.e. Weebly, Godaddy). Samples of my work are available upon request.

Math

Differential Equations,

Differential Equations

As an electrical engineer for over 25 years, I utilized differential equations quite often. Electronics requires this (rate of discharge of capacitors, ramp up/down currents, time variances, phases, etc.). Not only do I understand differential equations, I've applied them in many different ways.
Electrical Engineering,

Electrical Engineering

After receiving my bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University, I spent 25 years designing Ethernet, network switches/routers, robotic controls, explosive detectors, and medical instrumentation. I've worked for companies including Texas Instruments, Cisco Systems, Gould, Nortel, Digital Equipment, and Teradyne. I've taught electrical engineering at Indian River State College.
Finite Math,

Finite Math

As an electrical engineer for over 25 years, I've used finite and discrete mathematics extensively. Finite mathematics (and in particular matrices and determinants) serves as the basis for circuit analysis. Also, while studying astronomy under Cornell's esteemed Carl Sagan, we studied the first data from the Voyager I space launch and used probability and statistics extensively.
Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

With 25 experience as an electrical engineer, I've used linear algebra for a variety of applications in my designs. I've invented simulators, networking, electrical components, databases, software structures, and robotics that required linear algebra.
Logic,

Logic

I received my bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University. My major was digital logic design. I have over 25 years designing logic circuits, ASICS, and writing software code. I've worked in engineering for high tech companies, including Texas Instruments, Cisco Systems, Nortel, Ungermann-Bass, Gould, Teradyne, and Digital Equipment Corporation.

Excellent Teacher and very teacher

Mr. Brian was really helpful. I had a problem on a circuit board where one of the processors did not function correctly. I was advised by my teacher to cut the chip from the board but Mr. Brian found out the easy way is to leave the chip on the board and leave the reset button to the ground.

Brian knows his stuff and explains it in a way I understand

Brian is a Godsend! Within just the first couple sessions I understand how to do problems better than I have in the past 2+ months of studying the material on my own. He works with me to see how I think, and is able to pinpoint where I went wrong while suggesting the best way to fix it. He knows exactly what I will need to know for the OAR, supplying relevant problems and understandable explanations. Super knowledgeable and knows his stuff, highly recommend!
