In 2014 I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from The University of South Florida. During my time at USF, I interned in kindergarten, second grade, and fifth grade. I began working as a Kindergarten Teacher-Assistant at an academy in 2014. I was the director of Camp Banyan in the summer of 2015. I continue to assist at the academy, and do private tutoring as well as.
I completed coursework in Teaching Elementary Math at The University of South Florida. I have internship experience with teaching math for kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 5th grade. I also have two years' experience teaching kindergarten math. I use materials and manipulatives during each tutoring session.
I have taken courses in Teaching Elementary Reading using Words Their Way at The University of South Florida. I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham method. (The Orton-Gillingham method to reading is a language-based, multisensory, structured, sequential, and flexible approach that teaches the basics of word formation. The Orton-Gillingham method utilizes the three teaching/learning styles with which people learn - visual, auditory and kinesthetic.)
I assess each child in our first session so I can design an individualized learning plan using materials from: Reading A-to-Z, Orton-Gillingham, Recipe For Reading, and Everyday Math. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education K-6 with experience in ages 2-13. As a teacher assistant I tutor and assist children individually and in small groups daily to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts.
I use The Orton-Gillingham method to introduce sound out and decode words. I also follow Reading A-to-Z's phonic lesson plans and progress chart.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
