With 20+ years of experience working in large and small businesses, most often using QuickBooks for the accounting data, I went back to school and earned my MBA with a concentration in Accounting. I understand what it is like to be totally overwhelmed by the college experience - both as a young adult fresh out of high school, and as an older, working adult juggling job, family and school priorities. Now I teach both online and face to face classes in Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting and other basic business courses.
In addition to my accounting work, I have also worked extensively in college administration, including Career Development, Admissions and Alumni Relations. I am happy to work with you to help determine the colleges to which you might apply; and can help with interview skills for both college admission and job interviews.
I have been helping people find work since my early years as a professional recruiter and later in college administration in Career Development. I also have interviewed for more jobs than I can count, and learned not only the right things to do on a job interview but also some things NOT to do!
I have been using Microsoft Word and QuickBooks for many years through many software versions and updates. When my daughter was young and I wanted more flexibility with my work schedule, I worked with the local computer store in my small town, tutoring people who purchased a new computer and needed help learning how to use it.
I have worked in the field for over 20 years, and currently teach College Accounting - so I understand it both from the classroom perspective as well as the practical application on the job. I am not really a math person, so was worried when I signed up for my first accounting class, but quickly learned it isn't about math as much as it is about money (something I am VERY interested in!) so I also understand how nervous most people are when they are first learning accounting and I can be very patient.
If you have need of some help in a basic accounting class, or you just took a job involving bookkeeping and you need some help and encouragement - I can help!
If you are still searching for that perfect job - I have some ideas besides the online job boards that may help you find it. Give me a call and let's see how I can help there too. With 20+ years of experience working in large and small businesses, most often using QuickBooks for the accounting data, I went back to school and earned my MBA with a concentration in Accounting. Rosemary is a kind person and very flexible. She makes accounting fun and exciting. After my lesson I couldn't wait to get home and do more accounting! If you need encouragement and life examples on order to relate to accounting, Rosemary is the one for you! This semester I have gone from zero understanding to a decent understanding of the concepts...she's just the best!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a Masters degree with accounting concentration. 5 years teaching college accounting, both intro and managerial
For over 5 years I worked for a professional recruiting firm, interviewing and placing office personnel into full time jobs. Later, I worked for a law school, assisting the law students with resume and cover letter writing, job search and interview techniques. I also taught adult education students how to interview for positions.
I have been using QuickBooks for most of my accounting positions since 1992 in a variety of small business and non-profit organizations. I am familiar with both the online version and desktop versions including payroll processing. As a consultant, I used to teach new users how to set up their company and use the software to run their business.
