Hey There,
My name is Louis Arenas I'm a local Tampa resident born in Bradenton Florida. My intrests (other than mathematics) include thrifting at local music stores and power lifting.
I'm a current PhD student at the University of South Florida working towards my degree in mathematics. I started tutoring as a high school volunteer in the subjects of algebra and geometry. As a college student I've tutored students in pre-calculus, trigonometry and calculus through the 'S.M.A.R.T. Labs' on USF campus. I've also worked with students through private tutoring services in New Tampa.
My end goal for you (or your child) is to apply the general guidlines from the fantastic book "how to solve it" and leave with students a general pedagogy of problem solving. Which arguably is the whole point of why students are forced to practice mathematics; the mathematics itself may not be useful itself (depending on ones career of course), but the techniques of problem solving are.
