Bio

As a mother of two (now grown) children, I have always enjoyed working with children. Whether I was working in the classroom as a volunteer parent, tutoring children, or creating crafts, I love working with kids of all ages. My favorite part about teaching at MTSU was seeing the expression on the student's face when they caught on. I could swear there was really a light bulb above their head that turned on. It was always a satisfying moment.

My favorite part about teaching at MTSU was seeing the expression on the student's face when they caught on. I could swear there was really a light bulb above their head that turned on. I spent 10 years in the Girl Scouts of America Organization mentoring young girls on a variety of topics, serving as a camp counselor, and helping the young ladies to achieve their goals. In addition to girl scouts I also served on the board of directors for the Murfreesboro Little Theater in a variety of positions for eight years. I created the children's summer youth program and after school program and served as it's instructor for eight years.

I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University majoring in Sociology/Anthropology and minoring in Archaeology and Geology. I taught geology at my alma mater for eight and a half years after that. I have two daughters, now grown that I spent many hours tutoring in science and literature (my best subjects). I also served as a tutor at Middle Tennessee State University for at risk scholarship students and the OWLS program.

I can help students discover the world of earth sciences. If you need to get that English paper written, no problem. I can help with that too! I also give theater and acting lessons as well as audition prep for your next great part!

Extremely Helpful & Patient Tutor

My son just had his first lesson with Jamie and immediately texted me to say, “She is the best tutor I have ever had.” My son has struggled in school since a very young age and has had dozens of tutors. No one has been like Jamie. She is extremely patient and explains everything very clearly. I am very thankful we found her!

Tampa's Finest

Jamie came in to help my son with several Shakespeare assignments to close out his junior semester. Not only was she available on short notice but she provided all the tools so that he could execute his assignments efficiently and effectively. She made what he saw as unattainable; fun & was quickly able to grasp & understand the concepts to execute on the assignments. In addition, in a very short time we saw improvement in his comprehension of more difficult English authors and his writing skills. He looked forward to working with Jamie because of her relaxed approach and her willingness to take the time to help him understand the "big" picture. However, as a parent, she was always communicating with us as to the status on what was done and the next steps. We would of never gotten through the assignments at the speed while having my son getting a clear understanding of all of the concepts if it wasn't for Jamie. I can't recommend her enough!
