About Gregory

My passion to help other students began in High School and carried on into college while pursuing my Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of South Florida. I was willing and eager to help, encourage and tutor my peers in math-related studies. After graduating with my degree I became a Teacher for Huntington Learning Center where I aided in preparing student's to take Algebra and Geometry exams, incorporating various study methods. I really enjoyed the small group atmosphere and being able to pour my knowledge and expertise into the students. Interacting with them and learning about them helped with the dynamics and effectiveness of these academic sessions. The following year I started my own tutoring business which I operated for six years. I enjoyed the flexibility of having my own business and it was a rewarding experience. I would assist students with preparation for FCAT and SAT Programs and motivate students to work and excel in the areas of Geometry, Algebra I & II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I-III and other fields of math-related studies. While operating my own business I served in a similar capacity as a Teacher for A+ Advanced Learning Centers. This demographic of students were in elementary school and we focused on essential math and reading skills to achieve their academic goals and attain success in school.

The pinnacle of all these experiences led to my High School teaching position at a Preparatory school. Class sizes were more intimate than public schools and this created a unique teaching experience for me. My days composed of four different subject areas which required me to be well-versed across areas outside of mathematics. Subjects I taught throughout my tenure included Geometry, Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Earth Science, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Physics. I used different teaching methods such as incorporating Mimio Technology and resources found on the internet such as Youtube and other websites to ensure a vivid, inspiring and motivating learning experience. Since this was an international school I was able to see and hear about the different learning experiences and cultures of places such as Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Chile, China, Trinidad & Tobago and different cities across the United States.

I would be honored and privileged to be a part of your learning journey and help you improve and excel in your current math curriculum. I am responsive, reliable, easy to work with and provide a high level of integrity with my services. I look forward to working with you!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
