I have my undergraduate degree in Health and Exercise Science and am currently pursuing both my Master's and Doctorate degrees in Public Health and Physical Therapy.
I have been a tutor many times in the past and for a variety of subjects. While I was in the Air Force, I tutored my classmates in Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, and French. I have also provided training and education seminars on health, wellness, fitness, nutrition, and many other health sciences. I also held certification workshops for personal trainers and group fitness instructors for the United States Air Force.
What I love most about tutoring comes directly from my field of work: helping people. Whether it's in a gym, a classroom, a library, a coffee shop, (wherever!), I love being a part of someone's journey to success and achievement. I'm also living proof that the "guy who's always at the gym" doesn't have muscles for brains. I am an incredible coach, an active listener, and an innovative master of adaptive design. That's to say that I don't believe in giving up and that no matter what, there's a solution for everything. It just takes a little mind work to get there.
I'm excited to work with students who are trying to. I'm also a personal trainer and group fitness instructor; helping people is a true passion of mine. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
