Hello! My name is Katie, and I enjoy literature, chemistry, and baking. I am a premed college student, and spend most of my time studying in my school's massive library. My love for tutoring blossomed during my time in NHS in high school, where I often tutored under privileged children and loved every minute of it! My specialty is any and all English subjects, whether it be grammar, literature, poetry, prose analysis, etc. I read often, and completed the AP English exam with a 4/5, and the AP Literature exam with a 5/5. Needless to say, English is my passion! I am also quite skilled in chemistry, especially stoichiometry. My favorite thing about tutoring is seeing drastic improvements in my student's work, and being able to provide them with skills they can continue to use later in their academic career.
I am a pre-med student and in the STEM Academy program at my school.
I passed the AP Literature exam with a 5/5, and have a deep love an passion for creative writing and any English subject. My mother is a published author, and I am on my way to being one as well!
I have very flexible hours, and really don't mind last minute appointments. Feel free to contact me at any time! Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as the weekend are preferred, but I can also work Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after 5:00 pm. Hello! My name is Katie, and I enjoy literature, chemistry, and baking. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a premed college student. My goal is to become a pediatric physician's assistant. I will most likely specialize in cancer of the bone, or hematology.
I excel in grammar, and have a lot of material in regards to studying it. I have many notebooks that delve into the intricacies of grammar, and I enjoy figuring out why some of its rules were made. Improper grammar is a major pet peeve.
My mother is a published author. I proofread many of her chapters and offered advice, as well as corrections. I proofread all of my original work as well.
My own little sister had a very difficult time learning how to correlate phonetics and diction, and ended up going to speech/reading therapy for some time with little to no results. After taking matters into my own hands, she is now extremely literate and has a deep love for classic literature, while also retaining high marks in all her English courses. I hope to inspire the pride and confidence she now has in herself in others.
Due to years of flashcards and hard core studying, I have a myriad of vocab terms ready to be used at all times. My arsenal of terms delves into other languages as well, usually Italian or German. I have also studied the Latin root of most of these terms as well.
My mother is a published author, and I am on my way to being one as well. Creative writing was my favorite class, and I now right little short stories, or snippets of poetry in my spare time. I am rarely seen without a book or pen in hand.
