About Armon

Hello, my name is Armon a college student in Tampa. Some unique facts outside of being a tutor are that I grew up on a farm in rural Florida and love to sing. In regards to tutoring, I have two years of tutoring experience having been a National Honor Society (NHS) tutor and a private tutor for the ACT and SAT. Both of these experiences were during high school and had me tutor both large groups as well as private individuals. I consistently stuck with students over a period of weeks and even months to improve on their schoolwork and maintain a high GPA.

What I love about tutoring is that I have the opportunity to inspire and motivate students to love what they are learning which contributes to better learners and people later on in life. I like to be a disciplined, friendly, and encouraging tutor so that students feel comfortable but understand the rigor needed on their part as well.

I have excelled at math since I first started elementary school. I am very number oriented and like to break down the problem solving steps needed for myself and for the student's benefit. As a second-year college student I have completed and am proficient with basic mathematics up to Calculus. On AP Calculus AB and BC exams I scored a 5 both times and have scored a perfect 36 on the ACT Math section of the standardized test.

Understanding how to interpret graphs, tables, and understanding basic science principles is essential to tackle science on standardized tests. As a science major I am familiar with how to break apart scientific diagrams and explain to a student what the problem is asking for and what new data can be gained from the present information.

Feel free to contact me at anytime. I am eager and excited to talk with students and answer any questions you may have. My schedule is somewhat flexible and I will work to help your education in any way I can. Thanks for your time.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
