About Mario

I am bilingual school psychologist who works in an elementary and secondary setting. I have tutored students of all ages in a variety of areas. I enjoy working with students, engaging them with learning, and reinforcing good study habits.

I have an undergraduate bachelors degree in history with a minor in education and applied psychology. I also have a Masters in school psychology and I am currently working on my education specialist and doctoral degree in the same area. I am certified by the Florida Department of Education in School Psychology and Social Sciences grades 6-12.

I have a post-graduate degree in psychology and use it in my 9-5 job.

I am fully bilingual in Spanish and English and utilize data to inform instruction.

I am aware of best practices and effective strategies in learning reading and mathematics at the elementary level. I have provided interventions to students in these domains individually and in groups and I consult with families and teachers on providing effective instruction to children in schools.

I have an undergraduate degree in history and a passion for the subject. My biggest areas of strength are German history 1865-2000, Russian history in the 20th century, and American history 1865-present.

I am a school psychologist and specialize in providing services to children with special needs both directly and indirectly. Examples include learning disabilities, attention difficulties, emotional and behavioral problems.

I am available in the weekday afternoons and weekends please contact me for engaging learning sessions and friendly service.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have taken courses in learning theories, curriculum and instruction, and interventions in reading and mathematics as part of my graduate degree in school psychology. I work with teachers and parents in school to deliver and monitor interventions to children who need support. I provide interventions in reading and math to children grades Pre-K-12.

Special Needs

I have been trained as a school psychologist to evaluate and intervene with children with special needs and currently do so in elementary and secondary schools. Students I have worked with have included students with learning disabilities, attention difficulties, and behavior and social difficulties. The majority of my interventions focus on reading and integrate reinforcement of positive behaviors and good study habits.
