Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Career Development

I have over 8 years of experience in direct leadership roles. In these various leadership roles, I have had to hire and train individuals from the stages of "eager beginner" to "developed self-starter". I have enjoyed leading people to finding their true niche and ultimately what they consider to be career success.
Since I've worked in education administration, I have had the privilege of not only leading my direct reports but also guiding my students to their respective career choices.

Over the years I have guided many students from high school "hopeful" to college graduate to successful employee. When assisting others in career development, I draw from much of the practical advice and information I have accumulated from other industry experts, career coaches, and personal mentors.

College Counseling

I am qualified to perform college counseling because I have over 13 years of experience in education with the majority being in post-secondary education. My previous roles in post-secondary education have included classroom instruction on the college level, as well as academic administration. In my administrative roles, I have hired and trained faculty and well as advised students throughout the college experience.
I am passionate about helping students find the right career "fit" and "fitting" into the right academic environment to set them up for success.

Elementary Math

I am qualified to teach elementary math because I have taken and passed over 18 credits of advanced high school and college-level math courses. I have more than six years of experience tutoring Elementary math, with a high student satisfaction and success rate. My goal with each student is to build confidence and allow him or her to see math as a "tool" that can be useful in his or her daily life.

Spelling

I believe that accurately spelling is one of the many ingredients in developing positive reading skills. I encourage students to take the time to accurately spell and recognize words so that they better comprehend what they are reading.
I have tutored reading and spelling skills for grades K-8 for over 6 years, utilizing a positive reinforcement method.
