About Amy

I am a special needs teacher currently teaching at a Hillsborough County Public elementary school. I was a full time mom, taking care of my three boys, before going back to college. It was always my dream to be a teacher, and after having a son with autism, I was inspired to teach children with special needs. I have a degree in early childhood education, I am certified with the Florida Department of Education to teach Elementary Education as well as Exception Student Education.
I have teaching experience both in the public school and charter school setting. I have taught a variety of students with varying learning disabilities from ADHD, Down Syndrome, EBD, etc. I use positive behavior reinforcement while teaching, and I believe that building a child's self-confidence is the key to success!

I am currently teaching reading and language arts in both a self-contained classroom as well as a resource room. In college I maintained a 4.0 while earning my degree in Early Childhood Education. I have an eye for detail and can give quick, positive, and meaningful feedback on writing assignments.

Feel free to contact me if you or your child could benefit from my tutoring services. I look forward to meeting you!

Excellent teacher

Ms. Amy taught my kid (first grader) everything in one hour. My kid was amazingly sitting there and engaged in academic work without bad behavior. She looks very happy and confident. Ms. Amy is a great teacher we ever had. My heartfelt thank you.
