I am currently at the end of my second year teaching fourth grade, and will going into my third year after this summer. I greatly enjoy reading and writing. My students have progressed greatly this year. I have taught a classroom with ESOL, ESE, and gifted students mixed with regular education students. My first year I taught all the subjects. My second year, I taught English Language Arts, and social studies. I use technology in my lessons as often as I can. I assign research project throughout the year. I am currently taking my last class to finish getting my ESOL endorsement. I am also in the process of completing my gifted endorsement.
I love reading and writing, and want to spread that to my students. I know how hard the new state tests are, and I want to help students over the summer to be better prepared for them this next year.
I have taught reading and writing to 4th grader for 2 years. I use interactive and interesting activities and lessons. i use texts that interest the students. I also push my students to work hard. I challenge them every day.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
