My name is Vera and I have a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology. I am currently enrolled with Southern New Hampshire University in a Master's degree program and work a full-time job as a Store Manager. I am working on my certifications to become a teacher in the state of Florida and am spending my down time tutoring students of all ages. I like to stay busy :)
I have been tutoring for a number of years. I started helping my peers in elementary school when I saw one of my peers struggling to learn English. I have since found myself tutoring in a variety of subjects: Chemistry, Spanish, English composition, History, Algebra, study prep, etc.
I am a firm believer that students should be offered a multifaceted learning experience that allows them to choose the methodology that works best for them. Not every student is suited to the cookie-cutter approach that is often used in public schooling. As such, it is imperative that we try a variety of learning techniques to establish a firm understanding of how your child learns best.
If you are a parent seeking out a tutor with the necessary skills to teach younger, sometimes less attentive students (or even students with a disorder similar to ADHD)... Look no further. I have helped a variety of students, and I love working with children. They are the most fun to teach.
If you have any questions or concerns upon scheduling a session, contact me directly with any questions. I will do my best to ensure that they are addressed in a timely fashion. Hello!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
