About David

Hey there! My name is Dave and I'm an electrical engineer, who is willing and able to pass on the skills I've learned through my years in college and my 8 years in the workforce. While in college, I worked for the on-campus tutoring service tutoring other college students in calculus. I also tutored roommates, friends, and classmates throughout college.

Since entering the workforce, I have been sought-after and recruited for my knowledge and my skills. I've worked in semiconductors, sensor networks, pc/mobile app development, PCB layout, and embedded firmware/hardware. Firmware and app development are my true loves, though. I geek out over developing smart homes, app ideas, and coding Alexa skills.

Beyond being a smart dude who knows what he is doing, I'm very relaxed and down-to-earth. I think electrical engineering is fun and I hope that through tutoring you, I can show you how awesome it is too. Due to my work schedule, I am only able to tutor after 6 on weeknights and during the weekend. I love a good coffee/craft beer and I would be willing to meet you at a local coffee shop/growler store to talk about your goals for tutoring and to make sure we are a good fit.

I have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and graduated cum laude. While completing my undergraduate degree, I excelled in all math and science classes. I have experience working as an electrical engineer for 8 years in semiconductors, sensor networks, pc/mobile app development, PCB layout, and embedded firmware/hardware.

I have used C, C++, Java, and advanced Excel work on a daily basis and I am proficient in using them for recreational and professional purposes. Whether you are trying to learn these subjects for hobby use, to become a developer, or to prepare yourself for a career using these tools, I can help you achieve your goals.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Cool guy, cool beard, cool skills.

The title pretty much says it all. The class I am taking has a teacher that is quite harsh with this guy's help I was able to decipher the directions and finish an assignment.
