I recently returned to Tallahassee after teaching high school advanced English classes in Miami. I graduated from Florida State University with a degree in English. I have always enjoyed tutoring students, especially with ACT and SAT test prep. It gives me great satisfaction to learn that students have improved their grades, understood a new concept, or feel more confident in their skills.
I also assist with editing essays for college admission since I mostly taught high school seniors. I provide feedback with grammar and content of the essay. I am knowledgeable of college level composition for ENC 1101 and 1102 as well as the new FSA evidence-based writing exam for grades 6-10. Approximately 84 % of my students passed the FSA last year and 100% were on track to pass it this year.
I have a Bachelor's degree in English. I have over fourteen years of experience teaching high school English. My curriculum often included test prep for ACT, SAT, PSAT, and AP.
I have familiarity with the new SAT format starting in March.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
