Learning should be fun and easy. I believe in meeting students where they are then building them beyond their expectations. I believe in education as I have taught my children the same. In addition, today's children are the future and I would like to take part in developing the future.
I possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Statement of Eligibility for Social Sciences and currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
I have over 2 years of experience working in elementary, secondary, and higher education. I was a substitute teacher for Leon County Schools and Governor’s Charter. I also provided private tutoring. As an accomplished educator, I have been very successful in continuing existing lesson plans as wells as developing new learning plans. In addition, I was an Instructor at Florida A&M University where I taught Intensive English which encompassed reading, writing, speech, and history. Currently, I am an adjunct instructor at Tallahassee Community College teaching College Success courses.
I taught English to foreign students who were limited upon entering the United States. The goal was for them to master the TOEFL test in order to gain admission into a university. Within two months, they were able to understand some English. At the end of the semester 24 out of 25 students mastered the TOEFL test. Mastery was successful because students were assigned English, grammar, history, and speaking assignments. In addition, students were exposed to the American culture via field trips and videos. Students became more successful as they continued to use the English language.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
