About Tarletta

I've been a tutor for the past five years in Tallahassee. I enjoy what I do and I love watching and helping my students succeed. I'm a certified substitute teacher and I've worked with a High School and Tallahassee Community College for the G.E.A.R Up Program and the S.T.E.M star programs, respectively.

My favorite part about tutoring is watching my students finally grasp a concept or an idea. I enjoy creating new connections to ideas and learning about my students; their learning styles, their intelligences, as well as their personalities. I, myself, am a fun loving, easy going person and I like to create an atmosphere that my students are comfortable with.

I've enjoyed math since forever. I finished Calculus III and differential equations before receiving my Associates of Arts degree from Tallahassee Community College and have been tutoring math, professionally, since the beginning of my sophomore year of college. Math has always come easy to me. I feel that math is the one subject that never changes; two plus two is always four, no matter what language you say it in.

If you're having trouble with your homework, or difficulty with a concept, send me a message. My schedule is extremely flexible and I'm more than happy to help.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

Algebra I introduces a lot of key concepts that are new to students, and it can quite stressful if students aren't prepared from one chapter to the next. Proper guidance, through one on one tutoring and homework help can boost the confidence, and grades, of any student. I'm happy to help and have been doing so for over 5 years with great successes.

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 is one of the final math classes most student take in high school. I've been working with high school students for the past three years and have been employed as an in class aid at Rickards High School. Students are more than capable of graduating if you provide them the tools they need to get there, and I'm happy to help.

Calculus

Calculus begins a whole new journey when it comes to mathematics as it puts together all of the practical uses of what we've learned previously. This can be especially difficult for some students. I took AP calculus my senior year of high school and again once I entered college and it has become one of my favorite things to tutor. Hopefully, in the future, I can help you learn it and love it as much as I do.

Elementary Math

Elementary Math is all about adapting to the different learning styles of children, because they are all so very unique and are still learning what interests them and what they don't want to sit still for. I enjoy fun and enjoyment of creating educational games to share with my students to keep them engaged as well as grow their minds.

Geometry

Geometry is commonly known as the outlier of mathematics, which can make it all the more difficult to grasp. I've been assisting students with geometry since my time in high school. I enjoy it because it gives a whole new perspective to math. Hopefully, we're able to work together to get through it.

Prealgebra

I've been helping students with prealgebra for over five years. While challenging, it is one of the essential building blocks to the math courses ahead. I'd be delighted to help students get a firm grasp on these key concepts that will be necessary for the journey ahead.

Precalculus

Precalculus is the opening door to my favorite subject to tutor, calculus I. It's the first time for a lot of information and students can get lost if it's not properly understood. I look forward to helping anyone that needs me.

Excellent Tutor

Tarletta is an excellent tutor. In just one session, my daughter understood math problems that she previously struggled with. We were very satisfied with her services.
