I hold a Ph.D. in Classics from Florida State University where I taught Latin and Classical Mythology for seven years. I have also tutored students and adults in college-level subject areas such as ancient history, world religions, medical terminology (Latin and Greek etymology), and archaeological technical skills (illustration, cataloging, interpretation). In addition to these specialties, I am able to provide instruction in the following languages: Latin, Ancient Greek, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. I can also teach skill-based areas such as reading comprehension, composition, science, and math. Finally, I can provide proofreading and editing services at all levels.
Since each student learns in his or her own way, and each student's needs are unique, my teaching style is highly flexible. I am deeply committed to each of my students and take great joy in helping them succeed. I would love to help you tackle your academic needs. Whether you are struggling in a certain area, or if you just want to supplement your education, let me help you!
I offer a free “get to know me” introductory session where the student (and/or parent) can discuss his or her needs and interests. I seek feedback from both the parent and student on a regular basis.
I am willing to travel to a location that is convenient for the student, and to that end, I have a 24-hour cancellation policy.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have completed a Ph.D. in Classical Archaeology. I have worked on a Roman/Samnite archaeological dig as the ceramics specialist and laboratory supervisor.
I have obtained certification of graduate comprehension in Ancient Greek at Florida State University.
