About Rashid

Learning new material isn't always an easy task, and finding the perfect tutor to meet your needs can be equally challenging. I assure that the students I assist maximize their potentials and make enormous strides towards subject mastery. My tutoring philosophy involves a heavy emphasis on improving learning processes, logical reasoning, and critical thinking skills; knowing the correct answer is important, but I ensure that each student develops a strong understanding of the methodology that leads up to the end result.

My tutoring experience encompasses six years of teaching various levels of Mathematics, Science, English, and several other subjects. I am pursuing a degree in Chemical/Biomedical Engineering at Florida State University, so I have plenty of experience with all of the previously mentioned coursework. I also have experience in nonacademic areas, such as: interviewing, writing a resume, applying for scholarships, applying to colleges, and making web pages.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Public Speaking

For public speaking, I have several experiences that verify my ability to tutor students. In high school, I was a lead actor in the play, "The Nerd" where I also had three monologues. On graduation day, I gave a speech because I graduated salutatorian, and went through two weeks of training/preparation for it.

In college, I have served as a president for two student organizations that require me to be the lead presenter at meetings and events. I am also a House Manager at Southern Scholarship Foundation, where I need to effectively communicate with sixteen residents on a day to day basis, with the Office staff on a weekly basis, and with the community occasionally.

I just finished the Public speaking course at Florida State University and earned an A. The class consisted of two speeches and two examinations. I earned superior grades in all assignments. I had much experience with speech writing, delivery, and utilizing communication as a two way process.

He demonstrated and then had my son do similar problems. So grateful for his help with EOC prep. I can tell that he made a true connection over multiple sessions- natural teaching ability
