College of Central Florida (CF)/Saint Leo University (Educ. an Human Serv.)
Hi, my name is Sarah. I have an A.A. Degree in Elementary Education from College of Central Florida (CF) and a B.A. in Human Services from Saint Leo University. I also had a year of teacher training from Saint Leo, but I changed my major a semester before graduating. I have done 300 hrs of teacher interning combined at Belleview Elementary, Anthony Elementary, and Madison Street Academy. I taught classes, was a reading coach, and a listener.
My primary love and passion is history, any form of it. I have taken a number of elevated history classes of various types. I am also trained as a reading coach, and was reading and ESOL endorsed. I have been trained in many forms of psychology, religion, and literature. I believe in allowing the young to expand their minds and broaden their views and expectations of themselves and others. I prefer to do a pre-screening test on students to show me what their weaknesses and strengths are. This also helps me to know where they are in the subject area. I tutor to my belief in positive reinforcement, listening to my students, having a little fun, and working to meet goals set by me and the student. Hi, my name is Sarah. I have an A.A. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
