As a First Year Experience Instructor, and Student Services Advisor, responsible for planning, developing, and conducting individual advising assistance with career advising, academic advising, class scheduling, degree plans, and lead for student orientation.

Students leave my classroom with understand of :
•student to demonstrate knowledge of campus services
• students understand and explain effective test-taking strategies and study strategies
•Assisted in problem solving and critical thinking activities
•Referral student to college events, co-curricular events, and services
•Educates students about the interview process, including: application, resume and cover letter writing, portfolios, and interview techniques.

During my time as a Graduate Student working on a site for my Practicum I and II experiences, I gained the opportunity to explore other departments, enriching my experiences and providing me the background for other opportunities. This interaction provided me with experience in leadership positions, student organizations/student engagement, student assessments, health and wellness, student judicial, orientation and student development. I was afforded the opportunity to work in the Student Services field and gained an understanding of the importance of how building relationships in the college can impact the daily functions on the job.

Currently as Substitute Teacher/Par Educator (K-12)
•Read and understand curriculum and lesson plans
•Manage student behavior and classroom order and Ensure that a climate of fairness and respect is promoted

Students leave the classroom with fun and understanding method of learning.
