About Frank

I know and believe in the value of TESOL. My life has been intertwined with it. My parents were Sicilian immigrants. They arrived during the massive migration at the beginning of the twentieth century. They were uneducated, did not speak English but was very intelligent. Throughout our lives I was their English teacher. I was the one who brought American culture and language to our home. They saw to that I received the best education available. My wife is from central Europe. Unknowingly, I was again and the English instructor. In addition, my time in the Peace Corps as allowed me to have had real-life education in the field of cross cultural understanding and sensitivity.

Those who speak English with an accent generally speak two languages. They should be proud of their heritage, culture and the courage it has taken to leave their mother country and immigrate to the United States. I believe that all TESOL students want and need to master English as their second language in order to achieve the dream they followed to this great country.

I have BA degree in English from the University of Santa Clara, Santa Clara California. I have been granted Advanced Certification in teaching American TESOL by the American TESOL Institue, Tampa, Florida. I have been a reading tutor for my own children and a volunteer at their schools. I use the LindaMood Bell method. I find it to be the most effective and easier for the students to grasp the fundamental;s.

I am retired so I am able to accommodate most any schedule. I am available during the day or evenings. Please contact with any questions you may have. I look forward to speaking with you

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
