About Lisa

I have been a teacher for 20 years. I hold dual Professional Certification in the State of Florida with Regular Education Grades K-6 and Exceptional Student Education, Grades K-12. I have American Montessori Society Montessori Certifications in grades PreK-K and in first through third grades. Currently, I am teaching Intensive Language Arts to students in 6-12th. grades in the Imagine Schools. I break down common core skills at each grade level into manageable parts. I teach and help students to access skills with reading strategies and visual scaffolding techniques that I and colleagues design.

I have taught many areas of special education for students with ADHD, Asperger's, Autism Spectrum, Anxiety, and reading disabilities in grades K-6. My strength is that I listen to each student and find the best way to teach the skills needed. I have many methods from my diversified trainings, to public schools methods, to the hands-on Montessori Method, to creative Waldorf and self-created methodologies. I am adept at modifying curriculum to the student or modifying the methods of the teaching.

I have experience teaching in classrooms, in small groups, and one-to-one. I especially enjoy the very small groups and one-to-one teaching situations because of the focus on personal success for each student's level and capabilities. I enjoy helping each person to become successful and confident. This is my basis for tutoring. I can build each student's study habits and organization, planning and problem-solving, speaking and listening, and reading level and writing level. I have 100 % success at raising students' performance levels in all of these areas. I will help your child to succeed!
