Academy of Art San Francisco (Master's)
Hi, my name is Edward. I have 25+ years of experience on all levels & in all aspects of the photography industry.
I possess a Master of Fine Art degree in Photography from the Academy of Art in San Francisco, a Bachelor of Arts in Art-Photography & Psychology from the University of Miami, an Associate of Arts in Photography & Psychology from the State College of Florida (Manatee-Sarasota). Some of my previous teaching positions have been: Instructor of Studio Lighting at the Ringling College of Art + Design, Instructor of B&W Photography at the State College of Florida (Manatee-Sarasota) & graduate student-teacher of photography during my graduate schooling at the Academy of Art in San Francisco. Also, I'm frequently asked to consult with my peer professional photographers when they desire my input or wish to learn my valuable techniques. Previous professional photography positions I've been successful at have been Director of Photography, Studio Manager, Lead Fashion Photographer, Lighting Specialist, Photo Assistant & Photolab Technician. I've been shooting since my grandma got me a camera at the age of 4 so, I'm "old school" film trained & shoot digital too. I have a command of all camera formats & lighting equipment. I have working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom techniques. I have done all types of photography such as but not limited to: fine art, fashion, portraits, landscapes, architecture/interiors, commercial products & much more. I have professionally developed & printed color & B/W. Additionally, my imagery is collected & I exhibit my photography/painting. Recently, I was chosen to be one of the "Six Artists Exhibiting At The New Deal Galley" located at the Federal Building for the City of Sarasota's Art In Public Places Project, January-April 2012 & was also chosen as one of the six artists to inaugurate the New Selby Library also located in Sarasota, FL.
My special style of teaching is based upon learning each of my students so that I can build a uniquely personalized bridge of knowledge they can individually relate to in ways they each understand. Therefore, my style of instruction results in my students utilizing my knowledge in their own style & point-of-view to creatively express their own conceptual ideas in their own ways doing projects they want to accomplish. This approach is highly satisfying to my students. *Note: Please provide your own photographic equipment &/or painting supplies. That way I can help you learn your own photo equipment/materials better. Are you ready to create some magic? Thank you, I look forward to meeting you soon. Hi, my name is Edward. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
