My name is Leslie. I have enjoyed teaching and tutoring for over 15+ years in private schools as well as in the Pinellas County School System. I love to teach and see children and adults excel in areas that they may have difficulty in. I believe that every person has the capacity to learn and succeed and I am dedicated to working with the residents of Pinellas County. I am the founder and CEO of the Storehouse of America Inc. an emergency food pantry and disaster relief organization which has been in operation for over 20 years. Our goal is to meet the immediate needs of our community neighbors that may be facing difficult times in their lives.
Educated through high school in Montclair, NJ, I made Saint Petersburg my home in the early 90's and after raising my own children I graduated Cum Laude from Saint Petersburg College. After working in local private schools I am currently a substitute with Pinellas County Schools. I've been awarded Substitute Teacher of the Year 2 consecutive years in the 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 school year. I also have implemented an adult literacy program with a 100% success rate. Being a K-12 substitute for the last 4 years has given me the advantage of using the Common Core Curriculum at all levels in all academic subjects.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I am mostly familiar with elementary grades, however I have used Common Core in IB schools and lower graded schools.
